PURPOSE:To provide a low cost and simple storage installation by constructing a pipeline, which feeds slurry from storage tanks having no mixing agitator to a homogeneously mixing tank, and another pipeline which returns the slurry from the homogeneously mixing tank to the storage tanks. CONSTITUTION:When a plurality of storage tanks 1a are filled with high density coal-water slurry(CWM), clarified water occupies the upper layer and the density and viscosity in the lower layer increase to form a soft pack. And then, CWM in the storage tanks 1a is transferred to an emulsifying tank 1b by means of pipelines 8 and a slurry pump 9a before about one day for the use of CWM. Transferred CWM is agitated by a agitator 2 to unify the density but some CWM stay behind. A part of CWM in the tank 1b is returned to the storage tank 1a through pipelines 10 by a pump 9b to eject with a high speed from jet washing nozzles 11 and to improve the fluidity of CWM staying behind for feeding to the tank 1b. On this occation, a line-mixer 12 is driven to further unify the slurry.
