PURPOSE:To exfoliate a clad sticking to the surface of stainless steel and to passivate renewed surface by ice-blasting the surface of the stainless steel with ice granules contg. an oxidizing agent. CONSTITUTION:Ice granules obtd. by freezing a soln. contg. an oxidizing agent such as dil. nitric acid or a mixture of ice granules with the above-mentioned oxidizing agent injected into an ice granule transporting pipe is blown on the surface of stainless steel to exfoliate a clad sticking to the surface by ice blasting. At the same time, the renewed surface of the stainless steel is perpassivated.
