The safety device comprises a flat spring (10) which has an end provided with an operating push button (12) and which is arranged to engage a hook (5) of the swinging hood to prevent the hood ope­ning after it has undergone a predetermined swinging movement following its release, the hook being provided with an active edge (19,20,21) arranged to cooperate with the spring and having a profile such as to flexurally deform said spring.
