In the case of an axial piston machine of a swashplate or inclined axis design with slot control and a pressure compensation channel (271) at the inlet end of the high pressure (HD) control slot (23), erosions caused by the jet of the pressure compensation channel are to be avoided. This is achieved in that an interference jet channel (37) emanating from high pressure is provided at the input end of the HP control slot (23), the mouth (36) of which is arranged such that the flow directions of the pressure compensation channel (271) and the mouth of the interference jet channel (37 ) cross each other.
