In the case of a cuvette arrangement for discrete comparative analysis of liquid and film-forming materials, with the aim of improving the measurement accuracy and enlarging the scope of application of photometric methods the object is to develop a sample carrier which ensures that all the samples applied have extremely similar transmission depths and is gastight and easy to clean, so that it is also suitable for working with highly toxic or highly infectious material. The object is achieved according to the invention when a suitably shaped carrier member which consists of optically transparent material with a reflective capacity, can be guided continuously through the measurement beam in such a way that individual regions of the prism surface are transilluminated for comparative measurements. The cross-section of the prism formed as the carrier permits single or multiple transillumination of the surfaces carrying the samples. IMAGE
