The automatic stopping of the mincer 2 at the end of the preparation operation is ensured by a proximity detector 17 which interacts with a fly-weight 16 axially joined securely to the movable base 3. To this end, the tilting lever 8 which is selectively engaged in the notches 5a of the adjusting cam 5 is associated on the one hand with springs 12 which permit the elastic withdrawal of the base 3 through the action of the pressure of the minced meat and, on the other hand, with a finger 8b coupled to a rod 15 which carries the fly-weight 16.
