Method in which two panels 1, 2 to be assembled are fixed with respect to one another, face-against-face, and one edge 11 of a first panel and one face 22 of a second panel close to one of its edges 21 are pierced successively in any order with the aid of a guide device held integrally with the panels. The said edges of the two panels are located parallel and offset with respect to one another, and the said face of the second panel is the one which is in contact with the first panel, this face being pierced in its zone which has been left uncovered by the offset of the edge of the first panel.
