Apparatus for placing temporary support in the rise heading for longwall faces in collieries

An apparatus for placing the temporary support in the rise heading of longwall faces in collieries in the area of a winning or conveying machine permits mechanised placement of the temporary support. The apparatus consists of two parallel support assemblies (6, 7) with two support frames (8, 9) each, which are each provided with a walking mechanism (29) and the roof bars (16, 17) of which, in the advanced position of the relevant support frame (8, 9), project in the direction of advance up close to the coal face (30). In each case one support frame (8 or 9) of each assembly (6, 7) is provided with a manipulator (31). The latter has a supporting arm (23) for a support rail (4). The supporting arm (23) is guided in the direction of advance in such a way that the front end of the supporting arm (23) is swung up more or less under the roof in the advanced position. Each supporting arm (23) of the manipulators (31) is provided with a hydraulic cylinder (27) and is guided in a guide rail (26) which is attached laterally to a roof bar and has a front section (28) inclined obliquely upwards.
