Temporary roof-supporting device for galleries or tunnels adjacent the face thereof having temporary frames (30), said gallery or tunnel being advanced by means of a mining machine (1) comprising a universally pivotable boom (7) carrying a cutter head (8), said mining machine (1) having mounted thereon a rigid longitudinal trackway (3) and comprising an extender beam (11), arranged to be advanced on the longitudinal trackway (3) in direction to the face of the gallery or tunnel, and a transport carriage (27) for transporting the temporary frames (30) in longitudinal direction of the gallery or tunnel being movably arranged on the extender beam (11), characterized in that the extender beam (11) in its advanced position is supported on a supporting bracket (15) which itself is supported against the mining machine (1) independently of the rigid longitudinal trackway (3), and in that the transport carriage (27) is provided with a hoisting unit (29) comprising a support for the temporary frame (30).
