The invention relates to a device for cutting up thin seaming strips, having cutting tools which rotate about parallel bearing axes. The cutting tools are formed by a cutting cylinder and a counter cylinder, cutting grooves being worked into the outer surface of the cutting cylinder forming helically extending blades and rolling surfaces. The outer surface of the cutting cylinder rolls along the outer surface of the counter cylinder without its blades overlapping and without gaps in its rolling surfaces.
