Direction of travel measurer for vehicle - uses geomagnetic sensor, vehicle magnetisation state decision device with simple measurement value circle correction

A geomagnetic sensor sequentially acquires measurement data representing the components of the Earth's magnetic field around the vehicle in two mutually perpendicular directions in a horizontal plane. The vehicle direction is determined w.r.t. a reference point. - A decision device decides whether the vehicle's magnetisation state has changed between two levels. Change devices define corrected reference points from two stored measurement data sets according to the change decision. A final reference point is determined from the corrected and previous reference points.
