Light waveguide plate for photocopier - has triangular optical fibres stuck in triangular flat structure and having lateral faces covered by absorbing substance

The plate has an isosceles triangular shape being made of several parallel optical fibres (3) stuck together with their axes (FF') normal to the plate symmetry axis (OO'). Each optical fibre is a triangular prism with three rectangular faces, two of which form the input (1) and, respective, output of the waveguide. The third face, as well as the triangular bases of the prism (5) are covered by a light absorbing substance, in order to minimise losses, internal reflections, and external light penetration. The output face is antireflection treated. USE/ADVANTAGE - For transfering images, text or drawings in photocopier by turning them about an axis, like pages of a book, without distorting or inverting image.
