In the present paper， lateral vibration problems of an equilateral triangular plate anda triangular plate having inner angles of 30， 60 and 90 degrees were solved exactly in thecase with all edges simply supported; and approximately， by means of the Trefftz and theRitz method in those cases with all or some edges clamped and the others simply supported.Numerrical results calculated here are considered to be within the accuracy requiredfor practical purposes
