PURPOSE:To stably obtain a large amount of laver reed screens having different adhesions of laver on both sides thereof at a low cost by subjecting each laver reed screen braided from screen rod materials made of a synthetic resin to discharge treatment while running the reed screen parallel to corona discharge electrodes. CONSTITUTION:Corona discharge is carried out between a discharge electrode 1 and a fixed earthing electrode tube 2 and each laver reed screen is run parallel to the discharge part. Thereby, homogeneous discharge treatment of only a treating surface of the laver reed screen is carried out while bringing the laver reed screen into close contact with the discharge part with a pressure roll 5. Further, the earthing electrode tube 2 can be diverted as a discharge electrode and corona discharge can be also performed between the resultant discharge electrode and the earthing electrode tube 2 using the earthing electrode tube 2 as the discharge electrode. Aluminum or an aluminum alloy, etc., is used as the discharge electrode in aspects of easy working. An electrode in which edges of the corona generating part are sharpened and the electrode part of a yarn running part in the laver reed screen is cut so as not affect yarns by corona and heat is preferably used. The earthing electrode tube 2 is preferably a quartz tube from the aspects of heat resistance and price.
