PURPOSE:To provide the subject device capable of transferring seedlings without injuring the seedlings by spreading a pair of seedling-carrying belts below the carrying end of a seedling-feeding conveyer and disposing a belt below the seedling carrying end of the seedling carrying belts so as to transfer the seedlings in the direction reverse to the seedling-carrying direction of the conveyer. CONSTITUTION:In the seedling-selecting and feeding device of a transplanter for transplanting seedlings raised in a seedling bed in a main field, a pair of mutually faced seedling-carrying belts 26 and 27 are spread below the carrying end of a seedling- feeding conveyer 18 for carrying and transferring the seedlings P and the seedlings are nipped between a pair of the seedling-carrying belts 26 and 27 and downwardly carried. Belts 36 and 37 are disposed below the carrying end of the seedling-carrying belts 26 and 27 so as to transfer the seedlings P in the direction reverse to the seedling- carrying direction of the conveyer 18, whereby the seedlings P can be transferred without dropping the seedlings between the seedling-feeding section and the seedlings P are regularly transferred without injuring to remove died seedlings and select the healthy seedlings.
