ANNULAR MASK, ITS PRODUCTION AND METHOD AND DEVICE FOR PLATING USING THE MASK

PURPOSE:To obtain the annular mask capable of forming the boundary of a plating area on a conductive strip to be plated with good precision by cutting a synthetic resin sheet into strips and welding both ends of the strips into a ring. CONSTITUTION:A synthetic resin sheet is cut into strips, both ends of the strips are welded by high-frequency welding, etc., and the product is further finished to make an annular mask 8. The mask 8 is not significantly expanded or contracted and is not deformed even when a tension is applied on the mask. Consequently, when the mask is laid over the rollers 6, 7, 9 and 10 for circulating the mask to mask a conductive strip member 1, the masking area is not decreased in the cross direction. Accordingly, the mask 8 is not forced out into the plating area from the predetermined area, and the boundary of the plating area is formed with good precision.
