PURPOSE:To execute interpolation in a numerical controller while suppressing the shock to a machine as much as possible by improving the working program surface precision approximated with minute linear blocks. CONSTITUTION:A tape command 1 is punched as a working program and is read by tape reader 2. Read data is sent to a pre-processor 3 and is decoded to select line interpolation or curve interpolation. Data required for line interpola tion or curve interpolation is generated in an interpolation data generator 4. A pulse distributor 5 obtains respective points based on this data so that the speed in the tangential direction is fixed, and interpolation is executed to distrib ute pulses. A servo controller 6 drives a servo motor 7 in accordance with the command from this distributor 5, and the motor 7 moves a machine 8 through a ball screw or the like.
