PURPOSE:To develop the Al alloy which has excellent strength, heat resistance and ductility, is light in weight and is excellent in workability by incorporating strength- and heat resistance improving elements into Al, grinding the Al and forming the alloy to a billet by vacuum hot pressing. CONSTITUTION:The melt of the Al alloy having the compsn. expressed by general formula AlaMbXd or Ala'MbQcXd (M is one or =2 kinds of Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, and Ag; X is one or =2 kinds of Li, Mg, Si, Ca, Ti, and Zr; Q is one or =2 kinds of V, Cr, Mn, and Fe and 80=a=94. 5, 80=a'=94.5=b=15, 0.5=c=3, 0.5=d=10 expressed by atomic %) is rapidly cooled and solidified to form the powder which is then molded to the billet shape. An extrusion molding material is produced from this billet. The intermetallic compds. of Al and additive elements and the intermetallic compds. of the additive elements are uniformly and finely dispersed into the Al of the matrix, by which the Al alloy member having excellent characteristics is produced.
