A novel motorway toll control system is described, characterized principally by a three-level hierarchical division with a view to achieving decentralization of tasks, the first consisting of route processors, the information gathered by these being duplicated and sent to the station computers which make up level two. This information is also resent to level three where the main computer (front-end subsystem) is responsible for managing it appropriately by means of a comparison process. By means of this arrangement, greater flexibility is also achieved by means of the automatic allocation of parameters to the system's functions. IMAGE
