FILTER ASSEMBLY FOR A COAL MILL MONITORING SYSTEM

ABSTRACTA gas sampling system for a coal mill that willprevent particulate matter from entering the analyzing systemand, at the same time, prevent direct impingement ofparticulate matter on the filter. The system includes afilter shield assembly for a flexible filter attachable tothe probe of the gas sampling system. The filter shieldassembly is offset from the filter to provide sufficient gasflow along the sides of the filter to set up gas currents forflexing or fluttering the filter to dislodge any particulatematter trapped in the filter.
