A hood over a goods stack on a pallet is shrunk by a mechanism during the pallet transport. There is a hoist below the mechanism for the stack, with a suction fan in the hoist region. The hoist alongside the conveyor track (4), comprises a support (8) raised and lowered and movable below the palletised stack (1,2), with support members (10) movable from the horizontal to the vertical position. There are pref. several supports, swivelling on their longitudinal axes.
