The bicycle frame is split at the bottom to allow the main crank to carry crank wheels between the frame members. A short chain drive to a second axle closely spaced to the main crank provides the reduction range. The front belt wheel is mounted on the second axle and couples to the hub belt wheel. The wide belt drive is contained on the outside of the frame and with the belt wheels on the end of the secondary axle and the rear hub. All the gear changes are via the short chain drive.
