The bicycle (100) has an electric motor (M) arranged between a front wheel (104) and a rear wheel (106). A chain drive (108) transfers a drive force of the electric motor on the rear wheel. A pedal drive (110) inputs a body force of a driver of the bicycle into the chain drive. A clutch (118) i.e. centrifugal clutch, and a free-wheel separably couple the pedal drive at the chain drive. The chain drive is provided with a chain (116). A detection unit (119) detects a delay requirement of the driver. A control device (120) controls the clutch based on the delay requirement. An independent claim is also included for a method for driving an electrical bicycle.
