Local application of a medicament (A) comprises (1) introducing a cathode and an anode at opposite ends of the tissue to be treated, (2) introducing (A) into tissue between the electrodes by application of a d.c. voltage, (A) is confined to the region between the electrodes, i.e. the required local action is obtd. USE/ADVANTAGE - Method reduces the amt. of (A) required and prevents deleterious side effects of (A) on other parts of the body. Pref. application is treatment of tumours with cyclostatic agents which are expensive and have serious toxic side effects.
