A filtration device according to the invention comprises filters made up of a tank (7) which is mounted pivoting about a horizontal axis (x x1) made up of two trunnions (13a,13b) which pivot in bearings carried by uprights (14a,14b) of a frame structure (15). The tank is divided into compartments by chicane partitions 16 which start alternately from the bottom of the tank and from the cover. The partitions starting from the bottom are extended upwards by a screen 17. With the exception of the last compartment which the water reaches, the other compartments contain a filter bed consisting of ground or chopped vegetable matter. One application is watering using porous tubes or dropwise with the water leaving a purification station or originating from a water course. IMAGE
