NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I. USE:An electron acceptor constituting a charge-transfer complex. It exhibits small repulsion of electrons in electron acceptance and excellent electron acceptance and has excellent solubility compared with conventional linear conjugated compound. PREPARATION:The objective compound of formula I can be produced by reacting the terfuran of formula II with 6-10 times mol of N-bromosuccinimide in an organic solvent (e.g. chlorobenzene) at 0-150 deg.C for 0.1-10hr and reacting the resultant hexabromoterfuran of formula III with 1-10 times mol of tetracyanoethylene oxide in a solvent (e.g. 1,2-dibromoethane) in the presence of copper powder at 0-200 deg.C for 0.5-10hr.
