PURPOSE:To increase the accuracy in the slit width and to simplify the driving mechanism by digitally controlling the gap between the tip of a deflector and the surface of the upper roll according to the quality of the slit width of a product. CONSTITUTION:The production device 10 of the tubular body made of a thin plate equips with the lower roller 4 having the rubber sheet 6 which is fitted on more than the half of the outer periphery, the upper roller 5 abutting to the rubber sheet 6 and the deflector 7 which is arranged horizontally at the outlet side of the contact part 13 of the upper and lower rollers 5, 4. The deflector 7 demarcates a gap (g) between the left end and the surface of the upper lower 5. The arithmetic mechanism inputs the observed value of the slit width of the tubular body W and the allowable slit width reference value, etc., and outputs to the output side by calculating the revolutions of the step motor which makes the tip gap (g) of the deflector 7 the optimum value.
