In the case of a mouthpiece (1) for moulding a ceramic mass (T) fed to it, which mouthpiece can be fitted to a diehead (7) of an extruder, to regulate the flow rate of the ceramic mass (T) in the area of the mouthpiece (1) use is made of adjusting elements (11) which are arranged, preferably all around, displaceably in parallel with the longitudinal axis (A) of the mouthpiece (1) in the frame (2) of the latter on one or more of the side walls (3, 4) bounding the mouthpiece opening (10) and can be introduced into the diehead (7). By this design it is possible to make the flow rate of the ceramic mass (T) more uniform in the area of the mouthpiece (1), so that unequal compressions of the clay strand, which can result in stress cracks during drying and/or firing of a moulding separated from the said strand, can be reliably avoided. In addition, the regulating of the flow rate can be performed without the mouthpiece (1) having to be removed from the diehead (7) for this purpose. Rather, the adjusting elements (11) can be actuated from outside during operation without any problems. IMAGE
