The cover profile (1) can be dismantled from the fixed profile (2) by release of the snap engagement, and the fixed profile has a body (5) which incorporates one or more console-type flanges (12,12') extending from its outside, for the purpose of accommodating electrical, television or telephone cables (15,16). The fixed profile body is flat and free from projections on its inside to enable it to be tightly located against and fixed to a wall (3). The cover profile (1) on its outside has a strip or belt-form element (31) with self-illuminating properties, serving as a marking for e.g. an emergency exit. At least one further flange (6,7) extends from the outside of the fixed profile body (5), and has a bulge or projection (8,9) working in conjunction with a corresp. bulge on a similar flange extending outwards from the cover profile inside.
