The expansion profile for a floor or wall lining of plate-shaped components, such as tiles, stone or marble plates, comprises two angle profiles (11,12), L-shaped in cross-section, with a fixture leg (13,14) and a terminal leg (15,16) enclosing preferably a 90-degree angle. The angle profiles with their fixture legs facing outwards run parallel to each other with a spacing for expansion (17). The expansion spacing is at least partly filled with a compressible compensation material (18). An elongated clamp component (19) is provided, which engages on the terminal legs of the angle profiles, joining them together. The clamp component has a U-shaped cross-section, with a basic section (22) and two legs (23,24).
