The system to exchange fully wound bobbins from a textile machine, e.g, a rewinder, has a loader for the supply unit which takes the empty bobbins from the supply to be carried to the bobbin carrier (30) location. The bottin carrier (30) is rotated by 180 deg. round a vertical axis to present full bobbins to the loader which, when they have been transferred, takes them to the supply point and passes them over. At the same time, full bobibns are transferred by an auxiliary unit, such as a robot, from the bobbin store to the bobbin carrier (30) for the next bobbin exchange cycle with the loader. Pref. the bobbin holder assembly has a holder which rotates 180 deg. round a horizontal axis, and a pair of generally parallel shafts fixed to the holder while they lie on the horizontal axis. The shafts are at a gap from each other which is larger than the dia. of a spindle working with the bobbin holder unit. A pair or carrier arms are mounted radially to each carrier shaft, at a gap from each other along the horizontal axis. The carrier arms are positioned so that their outer displaced ends are closer to each other than their inner ends. ADVANTAGE - The productivity is increased by eliminating empty runs by the loader.
