The disintegration process is for vessels under pressure, particularly aerosol spray cans. This is carried out in inert gas under pressure, the fragments of the vessels being separatedfrom the materials contained while under pressure and the materials concerned collected. Nitrogen, carbonic acid or helium can be used as the inert gas, whose pressure can be adjustable to slightly above that inside the vessels.
