A ground or consolidating roller is attached to a frame. It incorporates a number of hollow rubber tyres fitted in rims together forming a rotary unit. The two outer rims (2) are fixed to a bearer (14) and the inner rims (2) are fixed by the outer part to the outer rims (2), and the inner parts are locked together through coordinated forward and reverse springs sections which maintain a desired space between the adjoining tyres (3). USE/ADVANTAGE - Individual wheels are easily and quickly mounted or removed from the machine.
