The box-shaped housing of a domestic cooker oven (6) has a double wall structure with a lighting source (2) located in the space between the walls. The output of the lighting source is directed into optical fibre conductors (4a,4b) that connect with distributor heads (5a,5b) fixed to the top and side walls of the housing. The heads are fan-shaped and distribute lighting energy into the internal space of the oven. ADVANTAGE - Efficient lighting, i.e. low energy required and restricts to area of concern. Easy to service.
