EVAPOTRANSPIRATION GAS EMISSION CONTROL DEVICE FOR LEAN-BURN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

PURPOSE: To improve drivability by obtaining a stable combustion condition while preventing exhaust of a large amount of HC to an intake pipe and avoiding adverse effect, to effectively purify evapotranspiration gas by reducing exhaust gas. ;CONSTITUTION: This is an emission control device for evapotranspiration gas (HC) which is generated from fuel stored in a fuel tank 28 of a lean burn engine 10, and stored in a canister 35 temporarily. An exhaust pipe 29 has an oxydation catalyst 51, a switching valve 53 and a supply pipe 52, which valve 53 and pipe 52 serve as means an evapotranspiration gas supply means for supplying the evapotranspiration gas in the canister 35 to the upper reaches of the oxydation catalyst 51. Poisonous components such as hydrocarbon is removed by performing oxydation reaction of air-fuel mixture composed of the evapotranspiration gas supplied to the exhaust pipe 29 and air included in the exhaust gas.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
