PURPOSE:To compensate a user's knowledge shortage, and to support to generate a sentence of a high quality using an appropriate KANJI (Chinese character) by showing a work meaning and an example by the KANA (Japanese syllabary) to KANJI (Chinese character) converter, when there are plural KANJIs to a KANA, and the user is perplexed for selecting a KANJI such as a target KANJI and its word meaning and example are not known, etc. CONSTITUTION:The KANA to KANJI converter 1 is constituted of a KANA input part 11, a KANJI converting part 12, a word meaning retrieving part 13, a KANJI selecting part 14, and a KANJI output part 15, and a character input/output device 2, a KANA to KANJI conversion dictionary 3, and a KANJI word meaning dictionary 4 are connected thereto. The word meaning retrieving part 13 retrieves a word meaning of a KANJI informed from the KANJI selecting part 14 by using the KANJI word meaning dictionary 4 in which the KANJI and the word meaning are stored.
