PURPOSE:To provide a rare earth-cobalt 1-5 series magnet allay excellent in magnetic properties particularly in rectangular hysteresis properties. CONSTITUTION:This rare earth-cobalt 1-5 series permanent magnet allay has a compsn. contg., by weight, 21 to 36% Pr and 3 to 9% Sm as well as 30 to 39% Pr+Sm, furthermore contg. 0.05 to 1% of at least one kind among Zr, Ti, Hf and Nb and the balance Co with inevitable impurities and has a structure in which at least one kind 3 among the Zr, Ti, Hf and Nb is segregated in crystalline boundaries 2.
