In a device for the forming of a flange or the like, in particular at the end of a thin-walled metal pipe (10), having two rolls (6, 15) which form a gap (20), can be pressed against one another by means of a feed device (22, 24), are supported on one side and are assigned a driving device (30), the diameter of at least one (6) of the two rolls (6, 15) forming the roll gap (20) is so small that the end zone forming the flange can be rolled to a relatively small wall thickness with the force which can be applied by means of the feed device (22, 24). On the side facing away from the roll gap (20), the roll (6) having the smaller diameter is supported by an additional back-up roll (5) of larger diameter. IMAGE
