The method controls the filling element of a liquid filling machine with an electrical actuator (SM1-SMn) for each liquid valve . Transducers (SG1-SGn), associated with the actuators, generate signals corresp. to the levels below or at a defined fill level in the (1) containers being filled. The signals are multiplexed (8) before evaluation and used to control the valves. The evaluation electronics output signal is detected by the control electronics by sampling only during a predefined phase of the periodically varying transducer signals.
