Asynchronous transmission communication cell coupling - storing information cells from incoming lines temporarily in reception registers, and dividing cells into sections for subsequent transfer
The switching method involves using a coupler to receive communication cells from input lines (E1..E16) fed to corresp. information reception registers (ER1..ER16). Each information cell is divided into a number of sections, entered in one of 2 memory banks (SP1, SP2) of a central memory (ZSP), respectively used for odd and even sections, with subsequent read out for feeding to a number of outgoing lines (A1..A16) via read out loops (AS1..AS16). Pref. the reception registers are cyclically interrogated, the input lines operating in synchronism. Each information cell is delayed for the write-in duration before entering in the reception register relative to the information cell received from the immediately preceding input line. ADVANTAGE - Reduced information handling time, to prevent information loss.
