The throttle is pivoted by the actuating mechanism in its housing, the latter having a stop defining its end position. The stop (36) is coupled to the actuating mechanism (6), and the end position of the throttle (4) is varied by adjusting the mechanism in relation to the housing (2). A sensor (42) can be coupled to the mechanism so as to determine the throttle position, and form with the mechanism an adjustable sub-assembly, while the throttle can be held against the stop by a spring acting on the adjusting mechanism. USE/ADVANTAGE - No alteration of relative positions of IC engine throttle and mechanism esp. for setting the idling speed.
