Wires (3a,b,c), intermediate amplifiers (5a,b,c) and position detectors (6a,b,c) determine the relative positions of a vehicle (1) with a fitted linear synchronous motor w.r.t. drive winding blocks (2a-2c) for feed of power to the motor, and to determine the absolute position of the vehicle. A calculating section (10) is provided for forecasting a current value for a vehicle drive power, on the basis of the actual signals for the relative positions and the absolute position. A phase synchronising control (9), a predictive current calculator (10), a speed control (12), a signal synthesiser (15) and a power converter (16) work when the vehicle from the area of a (N-1) drive winding block approaches the area of a N drive winding block in order to operate the N winding block with the forecast current value, when the vehicle travels through to a predetermined position. ADVANTAGE - Controls each drive winding block independently.
