The device has a memory for storing data related to positions of previously selected sites situated on specific paths. A global positioning system (GPS) type positioning device locates the positions of a vehicle during the vehicle progression along the paths. A comparison device compares the positions of the vehicle and the selected units, to indicate the approach of the vehicle to the sites.
