PURPOSE: To synchronize a repetitive frequency of a passive mode synchronizing semiconductor laser with a frequency of natural number (n)-times a reference frequency (f). ;CONSTITUTION: An electric signal of a reference frequency (f) is generated from a reference frequency generator 105, a referential light pulse 116 of a repetitive frequency of f+Δf is generated from a referential laser 104 based on the electrical signal, and a correlation electric signal of a frequency n.Δf is obtained by taking optical correlation between the referential light pulse 116 and an output signal light pulse 115 of a passive mode synchronizing semiconductor laser 101. Meanwhile, an electric signal of (n) times a frequency Δf is generated, phase difference of two electric signals of the frequency n.Δf is detected as an error signal and an oscillation repetitive frequency is synchronized with (n.f) by controlling a temperature of the passive mode synchronizing semiconductor laser 101 by the error signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
