PURPOSE: To obtain a compsn. which contains an effective amt. of 1,24(R)- dihydroxy-22(E)-dehydro-vitamin D3 and is useful for a therapeutic medicine for menopause and senile osteoporosis without side effects such as hypercalcemia. CONSTITUTION: This pharmaceutical compsn. for a therapeutic medicine for menopause, senile or steroid-induced osteoporosis without side effects such as hypercalcemia is obtd. in the following process. An effective amt. of 1,24(R)- dihydroxy-22(E)-dehydro-vitamin D3 is mixed with a pharmaceutical carrier such as corn starch, lactose, sucrose, peanut oil, olive oil, sesame oil and propylene glycols to produce a medicine in the form of tablets, capsules, powder, troche or lozenge when a solid carrier is used, or in the form of soft gelatin capsule, syrup, suspension or emulsion when a liquid carrier is used. If necessary, other additives such as antiseptic, stabilizer, humectant, emulsifier and dissolution assistant may be added to produce the medicine.
