The 37th Annual Sanibel Symposium, organized by the faculty, students, and staffof the Quantum Theory Project of the University of Florida, was held on March 1-7, 1997. The meeting was again held at the Ponce de Leon Conference Center in St. Augustine, Florida. The symposium followed the established format with plenary and poster sessions. This year, the schedule was shortened somewhat with a compact seven-day integrated program of quantum biology, quantum chemistry, and condensed matter physics. The topics of the sessions covered by these proceedings include Quantum Biology, Quantum and Classical Molecular Dynamics, Protein Structure and Folding, Monte Carlo Simulations, and Free Energy Calculations of Biological Molecules. The articles have been subjected to the ordinary refereeing procedures of the International journal of Quantum Chemistry. The articles presented in the sessions on quantum chemistry, condensed matter physics, and associated poster sessions are published in a separate issue of the International Journal of Quantum Chemistry.
