METHOD AND DEVICE FOR JOINING FOAM SHEET

PURPOSE: To provide a method and a device for joining foam sheets wherein an adhesive tape is not necessary, the foam sheets will not be wasted, the sheets are joined flatly so as to be easily processed, thereby providing efficient work. ;CONSTITUTION: A superposed part of a terminal end 1a of a raw foam sheet 1 and a start end 2a of another raw foam sheet 2 is cut off on a base plate 81. End faces 1b and 2b of the foam sheets 1 and 2 are pressed by a fixing plate 5 and held in a state that the faces are abutted to each other. A heating plate 6 shaped in a plate and heated to a melting temperature or more of a foam sheet resin is brought to pass through from an end 41 to other end 42 of a butted part 4 of the foam sheets 1 and 2 so as to thermally weld the end faces together. The thermally welded part is cooled being pressed by a cooling plate 7 while it is uncooled.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
