METHOD AND DEVICE FOR HEM SEWING OF CLOTH

PURPOSE: To automize a hem sewing work by sewing by rotating a sewing machine, in each corner part of cloth, and thereafter, changing the moving direction of the cloth according to a direction of the sewing machine. ;CONSTITUTION: A turntable 3, an intermediate table 8 and a sewing machine table 12 rotate integrally in the A direction around an axis of ordinate O, and by this table rotational action, a sewing machine 11 rotates around the axis of ordinate O, and by a horizontal moving action in the B direction of the intermediate table 8, a distance between the axis of ordinate O and a sewing machine needle 14 can be varied freely by setting 'O' as the minimum. When an end hem of cloth 19 is guided into the sewing machine 11 and its operation is started, a cloth moving motor is driven and while the cloth 19 is moving horizontally in the Y1 direction, the end hem of one short side part is sewn. Subsequently, when the sewing machine 11 reaches a first corner part C1, the rotation of the cloth moving motor is stopped, based on a signal from a corner part sensor, and the movement in the Y1 direction of the cloth 19 is stopped. Simultaneously, a sewing machine rotation motor 5 is driven, and while the sewing machine 11 is rotating around the axis of ordinate O, a sewing work of the corner part C1 is executed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO&Japio
