PURPOSE: To obtain a new gene useful for breeding a plant having desired properties, e.g. a plant having high protein content. ;CONSTITUTION: A gene coding 1-964th amino acid sequence of phosphoenolpyruvic acid carboxylase of the formula. This gene is obtained from a library assembled from a genome DNA extracted from a Brassics napus plant body according to the method described in Carrent Protcols in Molecular Biology (edited by F. M.
