FIELD: sports shooting, hunting. SUBSTANCE: two or four block crossbows are opposed on arbalest stock while a single string is reeved over blocks and is held in cocked position by release mechanism. On operation of release mechanism, spring slides over stock due to straightening of bows, and accelerates the arrow. EFFECT: improved design. 2 dwg
